Monitoring study of smoke-free policies implementation in a
higher education facility

The paper describes the approach to creation of a health-saving educational setting at the Academy of management TISBI. Effectiveness of smoke-free policies integrated in this approach was evaluated. The success of this policy was documented with measurements of particulate matter within the premises and comparison of its content with outdoors air. Survey of 469 students revealed that while 35% of first year students smoke, only 11% do so among the fourth year students. Smoke-free policies were shown to be an effective measure which facilitates quitting smoking.
